We remember him for his cheerfulness, his understanding, his eagerness to be a part in all our activities, and, most of all, his keen intellect, shown by his never-ending curiosity concerning all things. This is the boy we remember. This is the memory of him that goes down the cor- ridor of time with each and every one of us. Eagerly and with new inspiration we shall strive to do tribute to his accomplishments in our life work. 4711 Memary The opening of the school year was sad- dened for all of us when the news of Leslie Distin was announced. It was most appro- priate that school was closed for the morn- ing, so that faculty, school personnel, and students could honor Mr. Distin by their presence at the funeral services. Leslie Distin was a quiet man, going about his daily work efficiently, getting things done. That was his secret: a quiet, unassuming ngetting things done approach to life. Perhaps we can all learn a lesson from him. We may not be particularly noticed in our everyday world, but we can be missed greatly when we are not around by the manner in which we live. Mr. Distin has gone, we miss him a great deal.

Dedication We, the class of 1959, are proud to dedicate our yearbook to the man who has been a friend and loyal supporter of our class. Without his help and guidance it would not have been pos- sible for us to complete our high school years so successfully and pleasantly. u His untiring efforts in our behalf, helping us with our prob- lems, leading us around the rough spots along the road to grad- uation, and setting a good example of leadership for us all have won for him the respect and devotion of the faculty and students of his school. For these things and those which cannot easily be put into words, we say with deepest appreciation and affection, Thank you, Harry McGuire.
