CTD GQJJ Jrop ecy As the scene opens we find David Fitzgerald and Bemard Matteson alone on a beautiful tropical island. They are talking and laughing among themselves, when all of a sudden they hear a noise in the bushes. They look at each other for an instant then run for cover. Soon Richard Ackerman appears on stage. He gazes around then sits down beneath a big palm tree. DAVE - It can't be. BERN - Well, it certainly is, his twin brother. DAVE - Rich, is that you? RICH - Yes, but where the heck are you? fDave and Bern emerge from behind their hiding placesj DAVE - what are you doing here? RICH - I was on my way to Europe to get a look at the new cars. The boat hit a submerged rock and sank. BERN - Anybody drown? RICH - No, fortunately, everyone was saved. There was so much confusion, but I am sure I heard some familiar voices. fC1ass members enter. All talk at once and gather in SIOUPSJ DAVE - Wait a minute, everybody. BERN - Yeah, let's be quiet a minute. DAVE - It has been so long since we have seen each other, Iet's find out the latest news from all of you. BERN - Rich was telling us that he is, as - what are you doing, Rich? RICH - I am the general sales manager for the 1973 Ford. DAVE - Hi, Barb and Katie, why the pens and pads? BARB - Oh, I am so used to taking notes. You see, I am secretary to Admiral Ronald Zorda. You remember him, don't you? He is now on leave. I thought 'I would write down what the members of our class are doing, KATIE - And as Star Reporter of the Martian Press, the names of all passengers on the ship will be important. BERN - Hi, neighbors, long time no see. What is the latest from the Columbus gang? MYRTLE - Well, Bernard, you are the wrong sex for my business. My next assignment is training WACS in the Philippines. KITTY - I finally made the grade, Bernard. I am a dress designer for most of the European Royalty. ROGER J. - When you get ready to settle down and buy your farm, Bernard, I will do all your veterinarian service free. FLORA - I am in Myrtle's line. I am a yeoman in the Waves. THERESE - I am the cook on that tug and when we hit that rock the jar made my cake fall. BERNIE F. - And just because I am the captain of the ship, she is blaming me. Just as though I wanted to hit the rock and sink my ship - just to make her cake fall. DAVE - Well, I am sure that the cake isn't worth all this fuss, besides Iet's go see if we can be of any help to those that were hurt in the wreck. BERN - Hey, look what I just found - those three Happy Hi-B. A. girls. Ioye Taylor, Ann Burdick, and Janette Jones. DAVE - Are you girls all right? JOYE - Oh, we are all right, I run a crippled childrens camp and bumps and bruises are my specialty. JANETTE: Well, Ioye, we still do have something in com- mon. As a sales manager in the chain of Dykes Drug Stores, I probably write out the order for the bandaids you see. ANN - And during the winter I probably teach the same little men - I mean children. DAVE - Hey, Bernard, get your scorebook. We may as well have a basketball game. Our team is here and Tom Hardy, Dick Wood, Cal Lloyd, Rod Whitacre, Dale La Fond, Rog. Williams, Rich Ackerman, and Bernie are all ready. TOM - I am afraid that basketball would be a little out of my line now, I run a chain of A8tP Stores. DICK W, - It would be out of my line, also. I drive sport racers at Indianapolis. As you remember, when we were in high school, I tried to break the speed record with my father's car and found out that it could bring them to me. CAL - Yes, Dick, you smash cars up and then bring them to me. You see, Dave, I run our old hometown's biggest body shop, and Dick is my best customer. ROD - I feel left out. I am the only one so far that has stuck to basketball. I play on the team that travels around the world, THE WORLD TROTTERS. DALE - You are the only one that went on in basketball. Personally, I like newspaper work. I am on the staff of the New York Times. ROG W. - Yes, Dale, you are right. After I saw the set- up Sharpy Lewis had, I went into the insurance business myself.
