D ,clicaii on The 1959 edition of The Pirate is rightfully and proudly dedicated to the loyal group of five, the members of the Board of Education. They have formulated the policies that have helped move Hugo High School steadily forward. Through their ceaseless devotion to public educationg their many hours of effort for which little praise, no profit, and the usual criticism that a group acting in this capacity is subject tog our school has grown. Our athletic fields, new kitchen, music room, beautiful library, lockers, and improvement in school facilities, we owe to the forthright vision of our School Board. We, The Pirate Staff, take great pleasure in showing our appre- ciation for all you have done for our school and us by presenting you our book, Treasured T-al-es of Pirates Bold. 5 Mr. Eugene Johnson History Mrs. Norma Murphy Home Economics Mr . This year the Drama Club presented the one-act play Night Scene, for the league one-act play contest held in Kit Carson. Robert Weeder of the cast won the Best Supporting Actor Award, for his portrayal of The Man, a drug addict who had the main role in the play. In February the Club presented Pride and Prejudice. The play was well received and complimented highly for its outstanding scenery and costuming.
