Assistant Principal for Senior High Mr. .loseph Ayer, Hughestownis able senior high assistant principal. is one of the busiest men around Hughes. He is one of the main reasons why Hughestown life proceeds so smoothly. When he is not listening to excuses and filling out absence slips, he is taking care of student lockers. super- vising the lunch lines. or lecturing to someone the hall guards have brought to him. He has had to give up super- vision of the student book store, but has continued as spon- sor of the Hughes chapter of Future Teachers of America and as superivsor of the hook room. As if all his work in day school were not enough. Nlr.
