Your theme "Venture into Space"! What a host of
ideas rush in to find place in one's thinking!
The times seem to call to the venturesome soul to do
the unusual in the year of l957. The young are contin-
ually asked to reach out beyond the usual, the normal,
to a realm forever dynamic and changing. lt is like
standing on a high pinnacle, looking out into outer space
and wondering just what lies beyond. Your high school
preparation, as you look out, will necessarily direct your
ambitious spirit somewhere toward the hills ahead. He-
member, beyond the clouds may lie your destiny. This
destiny may be a glorious one for you. You may reach,

be determined by how well you are prepared, how
much determination you have to succeed, and how long
you are willing to wait for ultimate results.
It is a venturous excursion into the outer space filled
with the realities of life. My wish for you is that you
have the spirit of adventure backed by as good prepara-
tion as Hughes has been able to give you.
