Mr. Elmer W. Kizer, Principal, chats with Lou Askew and Carol Tiemeyer, outstanding seniors Were you one of the sidewalk superintendents who Watched the construc- tion of the Terrace Plaza building at Sixth and Vine Streets? If you were, I am sure you were impressed, as I was, by the depth of the foundation. The builders real- ized how essential it is for such a structure to have a firm foundation. You are building for your future and nothing is more vital than to see that the foundation you lay for your life will withstand the many storms that lie ahead. Some of you have builded well. You have not left undone anything, While at Hughes, which would have added height to your stature. You have taken ad- vantage of every opportunity your school has offered for your development. We fear not for your future. Some of you have left undone many things and some day there may be a feeling of remorse at having neglected to grasp the opportunities that were yours while at Hughes. We hope that success comes to you in spite of all your neglect. What you have experienced at Hughes is but a small part of the life you build. Home, college, business-or whatever your calling-add their contribution to your life as you live day by day. Keep striving to build in keeping with the plan the Master builder has for you. Elmer W.
