CHORAL ■ Anyone could sing a solo, but having an award-winning choir took a group effort The commitment of purpose was obviously necessary - of dedication to a goal — of school spirit — °f persona! achievement. And often the effort required went beyond singing When new chairs were needed in the practice room, or new choir robes were needed for concerts. the choir achieved their goal through group effort. Hours were given to fund-raising projects and hours given to practice A commitment of the group was given to common goals the personal pride In a job well done and the pride of Huffman High In a group of its own who gave so generously of their talents. Georgia, to form a 400 piece ensemble that played the Auburn fight song. The Marching Band represented Huffman High School well In a great show of spirit and discipline by the entire organization. Huffman High School's new Head Librarian, Mr Webb, came from West End High School. Originally from Huntsville. Alabama, our new Assistant Librarian, Mrs Peggy Benefield, came to Huffman from Jackson Olm High School. NEW TEACHERS Mr Jerry North, our new Health in structor. P E teacher, and Basketball coach, came to Huffman from Fayette. Georgia A 1978 graduate from Huffman. Mrs. Turner came from North Central Middle School in Norwood to teach Foods and Clothing Mrs Pullom came from South Carolina to teach Basic Algebra. Algebra I. and General Math. Our new Keyboarding and Accounting teacher. Miss Strode, came to Huffman from Hayes High School Mrs Griffith came from Atlanta. Georgia, to teach Algebra II. Geometry, and General Math. 11
