Mr. Youngberg Guidance Counselor My most sincere congratulations to the graduating Seniors of the class of 1970. You have met the challenges of high school education, and now you will have the opportunity to apply your results. You will go out into an ever-changing but always demanding adult world which puts a premium on this application. As educators, it is our hope that you have been well prepared in all respects, to assume your new role. All too often the fun- damental objectives of the high school education become clear after you have passed through the system and maturity brings on an appreciation for things as they are and not as we would have them. We are proud of you Seniors as you are, and we assume that you will become many of the things that we wish you could be. 7 Darrell Youngberg

Mr. Heiting Principal As this school year ends, it will bring to a close the secondary education for the senior class. It has been a challeng- ing year in several ways. Technologi- cally it is gratifying and mystifying how easy it is for man to journey through space to reach the moon and soon to other planets in the solar system. Com- puters are now performing tasks, with- out error, that man could never do. Sociologically man is slowly learning how to respect the rights of others and treat them as equals. In spite of all the progress that has been made (if one may call it progress), there are many problems that exist that must be solved by a future genera- tion, if man is to live in the interest of humanity. There are problems of rac- ism, pollution, war, poverty, educa- tion, and government. These are problems that will challenge you and the rest of the world as you enter the stage of adulthood. We trust you will meet these challenges even bet- ter than the past generations. To find your place in the world and live in it with satisfaction and enjoyment is our simplest wish. W. G . Heiting ASSISTANT TO THE PRINCIPAL Mr. Cassutt 6
