The Homecoming slogan for this year Tip the Tops , was selected by the Stu- dent Council instead of having class com- petition. This sloan appeared on posters and could be heard throughout the halls of Hudson High during the week preceding the big game with Glenwood City Hill- toppers on October 18. The week became quite hectic with the planning and preparation for the many new and old events that took place on Friday. The true spirit of Homecoming was re- leased at two o'clock on Friday when the pep assembly began with its cheers for the players, the coach, the skits, and the five lovely queen candidates who presented their pep speeches to the stu- dent body. After winning first in the skit and float, the Seniors walked away with the annual Homecoming trophy. Despite the damp, drizzling weather, the parade still went on as scheduled honoring the football coaches. At this time the queen candidates, Susan Cor- coran, Rae Ann Miller, Kris Mueller, Mary (Kitty) Richie, and Debbie Shaffer were presented to the public. Everyone was proud to say in spite of the rain this year's parade was one of the most suc- cessful Homecoming parades. The rain continued but so did the spirit, for many fans showed up at the field to see the mighty Raiders finally Tip the Tops to the tune of 19--6. At ten o'clock students arrived at the Oak Street Auditorium for the coronation dance. The music was provided by The Group. At 10:45 the highlight of Home- coming took place when the 1967 Home- coming Queen, Markell Lanpher, crowned lovely Kris Mueller to be the 1968 Home- coming Queen. 20
