Greetings and congratulations upon the completion of a very successful senior year. This class has produced many leaders and the leadership has been shown in scholastic work as well as in offices held in various or- ganizations and student govern- ment . The world around us is progress- ing and changing very rapidly. You must accept your share of responsibility in the area of hu- man rights if we are to under- stand and evaluate these changes and how they affect the dignity of man. Mr. Ogland We are living in a fast moving world. When our veteran space- men were in high school, there was no such thing as an astro- naut . Many of you may fill some occupational post in future years that is as yet unknown to us. In the brief span of a formal school education, an individual cannot possibly be taught all the facts and knowledge he will need to meet tomorrow's problems. He can, however, develop inter- est in discovering information for himself, in critically evalu- ating such knowledge, and ac- quire skill in doing so. We trust that your school experi- ence has been a launching pad which has given you a start for a lifetime of learning. Congratulations and best wishes to all of you . A . B. Ogland 5

Mr. Youngberg Another year has passed and our graduates of 1969 join the ranks of those of us who now look back on our high school days. Let's hope that this group can be proud of its record of achievements up to now. But looking back is not the task at hand. We are rather becoming ever increasingly aware of the fact that high school graduation is not the end of an era but rather the beginning of an adult life and the world of re- sponsibility, responsibility to ourselves and to the world we live in. It is the sincere wish of those of us in education that we have done an adequate job in preparing this class to meet both of these obligations.
