Mr. Heiting Another school year has passed; and as we examine the year, we notice that many important happenings have oc- curred. We can observe tremendous changes in the area of technology, eco- nomics, and social life. Many of these changes frighten the older part of the present generation, but not the younger part. Young people are accepting the ills of the world as a challenge. They appear willing to experiment with change to make the world a better place to live. What part will our graduating seniors play in this change? Will they accept any change suggestion without analyzing the effects on future mankind; or will they take the time to study, an- alyze, and restudy each change to be sure how it will affect mankind? With a firm family background and a strong educational foundation each will succeed in making a wise choice. It is also well to remember that self-government, political freedom, and the rule of law are rare and precious accomplishments. These are made pos- sible by a shared conviction that reason should prevail, that compromises are necessary, and that we should have a decent respect for one another's opin- ions. Best wishes for a happy and fruitful future. 6 W. G. HEITING

Mr. Ogland Congratulations to all of you for the completion of another successful school year. Your educational achievements here in school have been high, and you should get much personal satisfaction from your many accomplishments. Continued progress of civilization relies heavily on youth and its abilities to cope with the many changes that are taking place and will be forthcoming. This will especially be true as you ap- proach the 21st. Century. Commence- ment to you Seniors is not an end. It is a starting point for each of you. Your continued intellectual appetite, growth and progress will be an asset not only to you but to all mankind. Your reward will be much happiness and satisfaction from the part which you will play. May all of you continue to use your individual talents for a successful and happy career in whatever endeavor you choose. A. B. OGLAND 5

Mr. Youngberg Best wishes to the graduating class of 1968. This class can be proud of the many contributions it has made to make Hudson High School the fine school that it is. Many class members will go on in higher education while many will not choose to go on but as a group they will continue to add to our American way of life; and, as individuals all have the poten- tial to be successful in their own right. Graduation is not the end but rather the beginning for those who choose to have it as such. 7
