.4-X I H H D 41 GIRL RESERVES Forty Seven girls became enthusiastic members of the Girl Reserve Club for 1940-l94l--the highest number in many years--and immediately began doing dozens of interesting things. Each girl became a member of a committee res onsiblc for the earning of 8 dollars--which resul i p A D 'ed in many unique ways of raising it. Thanksgiving Baskets, Christmas Caroling, Easter Services, all Constituted a part of the G. R.'s service work for this year. In the fall 9 girls and their sponser, attended a 5 day Conference 1'on the irls received whi at Columbus. The fun, ideas, and inspiraoi X g there will be remembered for a long time. These who went were: Jerry, Mary Arlene, Ruth R., Dorothy M., Menzenita, Helen Maxine, Florence, Alice, Virginia, and Miss Gillet. ' In February, the girls planned a County G. R. Rally here, and at which about 100 girls from Moline, Grenola, and Howard came and bro covered dishes with an interesting program after the evening meal. Lots of work made this event a grand success. Closing events of the G R. work were the picnics with the Hi y and F F A. and their Mother and Daughter Banquet.
