FUTURE HOMEMAKERS OF AMERICA is a national organization of girls studying homemaking in high schools of the United States and territories. The national organization is composed of chartered state associations which are made up of local chapters. A week is set aside dedicated to F.H.A. Each day of that week fulfills a purpose to emphasize the importance and to advertise the Chapter. State meeting is held once a year, this year at Douglas, Wyoming lt was attended by Carol Benson, Verna Turnell and Elvira Holder. Chapter Mothers representing each community are chosen by the members. This year they were: Mrs. Glen Shaffer, Mrs. Melvin Shafer, Mrs. Lucy Holder, Mrs. Nate Brown, and Mrs. Turnell. Highlight of the year was the Harvest Moon Ball held every fall. Everyone went western, including the band. Around the World Banquet with representatives from foreign countries, entertained not only the members but the entire family. Concluding the year's work, the club strives to interest the prospective freshman girls of the following year, with a senior and eighth grade tea. F.H.A. FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA is the organization of farm boys who are students of vocational agriculture in Rural High Schools throughout the nation.
