The Romania Savage Chapter of the High School Red Cross is named for a former president, whose perseverance made it possible for delegates of the Negro Unit to attend leadership training camp each summer. THE N .G. COULTER CHAPTER OF NATIONAL The National Honor Society of Horace Mann was organized by Mrs. G. H. Scott in 1935 at Dunbar. The purpose of the organization is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of American Secondary Schools. In order to obtain membership in the Honor Society, candidates must have a 3.41 average in basic subjects, acceptable citizenship Cno U sj. Horace Mann's chapter was host to the plan- ning meeting of the Arkansas Association of HONOR SOCIETY National Honor Societies, February 1. Dele- gates and sponsors from 25 chapters were in attendance. During the school year the Honor Society entertains students who have made any of the three Honor Rolls. Two Induction assemblies are held each year. 'One is in November and the other in March. The 13th Annual meeting in April will fea- ture Dr. Colburn Hooton of Washington, D. C. The motto of the Chapter is NOBLESSE OBLIGE . . . Colors are Blue and Gold, Flower, a yellow rose. L.
