SENIORS Here we are at the City of Graduation, waiting to try our hands at what lies inside. It has taken us four long years to reach our destination. Our journey began at the far end of High School Valley in a small village where we were known as Freshmen. As we left the city and started on our trek up the valley, we encountered such obstacles as Algebra I, Latin I, General Science, and scores of other plots that were laid to catch us and trip us up. The big event of the year was the Freshman-Sopho- more Party, at which we worked quite hard. The next step in our journey was through the Sophomore Swamp. Detention was poking its ugly black head out of the mucky brine to try to capture us. A few got by, but many were temporarily caught in his jaws until Hard Work and Honesty set us free. Left to right: Ronnie Gerber, Betty Skarin, Arletta Mohler, judy Burns, Mr. LaHue, advisor, Nancy Bowers. At last we reached the foot of the junior Mountains. Far at the top we could see the City of Graduation poking through the clouds. Our main obstacle on the junior Mountain was a large, rocky hill known as junior-Senior Prom. At times we wondered if we would ever make it. If it hadn't been for our faithful guides, the Seniors might not have had a prom. At last we came upon the highest and hardest mountain of all, the Senior Moun- tain, at the top of which lies the City of Graduation. Extra-curricular activities be- gan crowding out all studies. But when report cards rolled round, we soon realized we'd better get on the ball. Then came the Senior Prom, put on for our benefit. At last we have received the key to the City of Graduation, our Diploma. It is with very deep regret that we say Good- by to High School Valley, but we are all anxious to start out on the road of life.
