That's our description of the play, Commencement, a three-act com- edy presented by the junior class on january l-i. The real hero in this play was the high school itself. The plot contained many of the prob- lems one might expect to encounter during an average year at the typical American high school. Many of the scenes paralleled actual experiences of the high school actors and actresses themselves. The plays romantic interest revolved around Ellen Stone, the high school secretary, and Tom Carver, a young teacher. The problems of Alan, accused of being a thiefg julia. who thought everyone hated her because her father had been a criminal: and Sally, who couldn't seem to get a date, pre- sented additional humor and excitement.
