Debate not only develops a persons poise and speaking ability, but enriches his knowledge and enables him to see the two sides of every question. Resolved: That the Federal Government should initiate a policy of free trade among nations friendly to the ljnited States was the question for debate this year. The varsity debaters for 1954-55 were john Norris. Roy Newell, -Iune Harpold. and Sandra Shaw. The team placed first in the tournament held at North Canton in December. and won the third-place trophy in the all-state tournament in March.
