FIRST ROW: DEBATE TEAM One of the morst worthwhile activities in North Canton High School is debate. The de- baters spend a good deal of their time from November through March preparing cases and par- ticipating in debate tournaments all over Ohio. The question for debate this year was on the method to be used in electing our President. Besides the Varsity and BU debate teams, there were several excellent Freshman and Sophomore debate teams. The Varsity team this year was composed of Carol Kitzmiller, Paul Dolan, John Norris, and Roy Newell, who placed second in the state tournament at Columbus. ATIONAL FORENSIC LEAGUE The National Forensic League is a national organization made up of speech students. To be a member of this organization requires an active participation in speech activities and a good scholastic record. The tongue-waggers in the N. F. L. receive their points for debate, service speeches, and individual events. These points go toward degrees which the student receives when he has 20, 50, 100, and 200 points, and towards a scholarship at Ripon College in Wiscon- sin.
