SENIOR CLASS HISTORY The Forty-Niners A Comedy Drama in Four Acts The cast of this production is made up of sixty actors, each, showing his own talent in the play of youth! The scene of action is the halls of No Ca Hi, with much off-stage work adding to the success. Scene 1 A. D. 1945-1946 Withstanding the rigors of being frosh, amazingly vvell, we experience our first elective subjects, Freshman-Sophomore-Party and a voice in the Student Council with the worldly wise approach. Scene II A. D. 1946-1947 By now we are well settled in the routine of high school, W after surviving the perils of slightly greenish freshmen. We 4 begin to notice some outstanding leaders in extra-curricular I -A , ffm activities. f ag, 4 f ff j Scene III A. D. 1947-1948 Q , 1 ' Realizing that we have but one year more till We are c i seniors, each junior tries his best to make the most of his third I year. Our up-and-coming grid and cage stars do much to help 'i win the Vikings distinction in sports. Musical talent flows freely, ' I and as scholars, We rate with the best. L tha, Scene IV A. D. 1948-1949 The Forty-Niners at last live up to their name. Every Senior is a bonafide repre- sentative of the activities that high school offers. As for the statistics: Of the sixty Seniors, thirty-five started to school in North Canton Grade Schools, nine began school days at the Parochial School, the year - 1937. Seventy-iive percent of the boys have participated in some extra-curricular sport. Fifty-five percent of the sixty have subjected themselves to Scholarship Tests at one time or another, and - Sixty percent of the class have been members of some musical organization at least one of the four years. We have members in Debate, National Honor Society and other inter-scholastic clubs, too. As the curtain comes down on the play, We might say, for the1 Forty-Ninersf' We don't have much history, but be it assured, We are bound to ma ce some. Martha Ann Bain, Historian. 13
