Class Will Upon making our exit from the doors of the Viking's and Vikingette's school of North Canton we, the Class of '42, hereby distribute our possessions as we see fit. I-Harold and I-Ioward's looks to other up and coming twins who want to confuse referees. II-Glenn Golloway's Orson Wells accent to Dale Rudersmith. III-Donna Davidson's way of being happy with one man to Helen King. IV--We leave our former Chicagoan, George Cummings, to anyone who can provide him with Windy City hotel accommodations. V-Marilyn Muse's Sweetheart way with men to Barbara Curry. VI-Dale Trachsel's ability to play basketball to Richard Creviston. VII -Eugene Swearengin's Modern Design build to Tom Trusty. VIII--Tom DeMuesy's haircuts to the seventh grade's Sunshine Murphy. IX-Ruth Frye does not auction Lindy to any bidder. X-Carl Peterson's John Barrymore Profile to other will be salesmen. North Canton, Ohio Spring, 1942 Dear Father Time: Each year a new generation of students makes application to you for a place in your employ. This year we of the Senior Class of North Canton High are part of that gen- eration and we in our turn are submitting our application for your consideration. Our qualifications are many and diversified. Possibly the most important of our training has been obtained in the last four years which are commonly called high school. In our freshman year we began our first efforts in the realm of real study. We began our work in science, higher mathematics, history, the languages, and the commercial courses. These studies were continued by us in the later years, sometimes successfully and at other times not so well. Hours upon hours of classes, study halls, and home work rolled by. Tests and exams were given us. Much was learned and more than a little forgotten. True, we cannot claim exemption from frivolity. Certainly we shot our share of paper wads and had our share of tardy marks and demerits. We had our share of social life as well. In our freshman year we were treated to our first Class Party. Next year we returned another party to the succeeding class. Then in our junior year came the culmination of the hopes of any high school student-our first Junior-Senior Prom! These parties and the one our senior year will long be remembered. Along with such memories, rank the Class Plays, Uncle Tom's Cabin and The Vampire Bat. Our football, basketball, and debate records have been far above average. In the clubs and activities in general, our class has been well represented. As a matter of fact there is little that a high school student can do that we did not do. But through it all a change was taking place. Our learning came not only from books, but from life as well. We developed from children to youth of our nation. Now, after twelve years of toil and perspiration, we feel that we are ready to begin our services in society. We owe thanks to many persons, principally to our teachers, our superintendent, Mr. Trachsel, and far from least our own Class Advisor, Mr. Nagel. Through the guidance of these men we were able to gain a large measure of the advancement which we have achieved. We have learned many things. We have experienced laughter and tears, work and play, war and peace, life and even death. We have had a preview of what is to come. We have learned a few of the fundamentals. We have seen the present and dreamed of the future. What place will be found for us in the future, we cannot say. We can only work toward the goal that somewhere among the tomorrows to come we, The Class of '42, shall have our day. Yours truly, The Class of '42.
