LV. RULES THE FIELD! Congratulations are in order to first year l.V. baseball Coach Don George. He did a great job coaching the junior varsity baseball team this year. The team was basically a small team in size, but, give them a bat and ball, and you've got a team of Giants! They had lots of spirit and determination to be the best on the field. Working together as a team was their key to victory, because to win, it takes more than one persong it takes a whole team. Thanks, Coach George, and the entire 1980 l.V. THE DIAMOND! ,ts if gps wwf' ,rw Q navy 13 ,1 The Pate sluggers of 1980 not only proved that they were tough opponents in the N.Y.L., but also that they had the tal- ent and spirit to come out on top! They showed their potential by placing third in the N.Y.L. Tournament earlier in the season defeating Clovis and Roosevelt. Former l.V. coach Hal Froese moved up this year to fill in the shoes of long-time varsity coach Jack Hannah. lt was a hard act to follow but due to Froese's previous coaching experience, he was able to pull the team together and lead them to a vic- torious season. 71
