F.H.H. 1955-1956 In Septembe r the Hondo Chapter chose its beau, Fred Wright, and its chapter parents, Mr. 8: Mrs. Erwin Moos and Mr. 8: Mrs. Roy Hartrnan. At the District I me e ting held in Devine November 5, 1955, Sara Moore was elected district historian. During the year the chapter sponsored three dances, one of which the FFA and FHA went together. In February the FHA girls attended the San Antonio Stock Show. At 'the Ar ea VII meeting in Austin, March 25, 1956, the ele ction ofBar- baraBrucks as recording secretary made her eligible to attend the National Meeting in Chicago July 2-4. Virginia Clements, Barbara Brucks, and Mrs. Faseler attended the State meeting in Fort Worth, April 20-21. Installation of officers and a style show in the high school auditorium for the girls' parents on May 14 closed the FHA activities for the year. Two teams quali- fied for the A r e a Contest where eight senior d iv i s i on boys placed first in the Area. This same group placed tenth in the State Leadership C onte s t. Other leadership activities were FFA Play Night, March 16, 19563 Parent and Son Banquetg and District, Area, and State FFA Convention. The chapter held its annual coon hunt and barbe cue January 7, 1956, on the Vivian Neumann Ranch near Biry. There were many well-fed boys. In September Mary Lu Moos was chosen 1956 FFA Sweetheart. The new FFA offic e r s attend District Officers Training School at Utopia each summer. To close the years activities the FFA planned a fishing and camping trip in June.
