Powerful runners in the backfield and good blocking up front brought the Tigers to a winning 6-3-1 season. Tigers Quarterback Jerry Kennedy could direct a frightening passing attack or could run well. Randy Fields scored 6 of the points made against the Haysi Tigers. Would the real Tigers please stand up? However, the team showed determination and spirit throughout the season. With the returning of experienced lettermen and the addition of several excellent players from the Junior Varsity team, the 1972-73 TIGERS look forward to next season. Tiger Captain, Kerry Compton shows us how he makes it look easy. With his skill and leadership, Kerry led the Tigers to an eventful season for which Tigers love him. 98 TERRY MILLER KERRY COMPTON BILLY JOHNSON LARRY CLARK LARRY PERKINS JERRY HONAKER 99 CO TirPRS I TOMMY MULLINS MIKE McGLOTHLIN TEDDY McGLOTHLIN FRED GENT 100 Iff Tigers in Action Compton shoots with no hope for a rebound, in the last three seconds. They averaged 11.5 and 9 points per game respectively. The lead- ing rebounder, Ronnie Perkins, averaged 9 rebounds per game. Despite being so young and inexperienced, the 1971 baseball team coached by Tom Harding was a success. This was Coach Harding’s first year as head baseball coach. We appreciate the fine coaching he gave the team. New uniforms cre- ated gusts of enthusiasm and team spirit. The team finished the season with six wins and five losses. Although the team lost two players, the team as well as the students at H.H.S. are optimistic about the ' 72 season.
