he Silver Screen This year had an unusual collection of films, and here are a few ofthe more popular movies that graced or defaced the silver screen. Stand By Me- A story about four pre-adolescent boys that go looking for a dead classmate. Along the way they learn about life and wonder what Goofy really is. Crocodile Dundee- An Austrailian tour guidefcrocodile poacher meets a big city reporter who takes him back to New York . This movie could also be called 'The Paul Hogan Show' because he wrote, produced, and starred in it. Be on the lookout for the upcoming sequel, 'Waiting for G'day'. Top Gun- This movie was destined to be a blockbuster. lt had everything a movie could possibly have to offer: a top-AO rock 'n' roll score, great flight scenes, Kelly lvlcGillis for the guys and Tom Cruise for the girls in the audience. The love scene alone was enough to cause palpitations in t ,Q r S Remember when movie tickets used to be 83.507 Senior Ann Modro does as she shells out 55.50 for a ticket at Century TO. Wondering whether to get popcorn with 'real butter' orJu.Ju Bees isjunior Ilene Herz waits in line at the concession stand at Century TO. Student Life mf Everyone watches The Cosby Show' and thats that. Got it? Good. Violators will be shot a rock. Ferris BueIler's Day Ott- One day Ferris and friends cut class and spend the day romping all over Chicago. ln the course of the day they dine in a fine restaurant, visit an art exhibit, go to a baseball game, and usurp a parade. Doesn't that sound better than going to school and taking a test an European Socialism? Little Shop ot Horrors- Siskel and Elbert predict that this film will be the next 'Rocky I-lorror'. Only time will tell, but they already have two things in commonzboth , ,,V,,, .,.., .- r .,,.. have the word 'horror' in their tities and both are rock 'n' roll musicals. 'little Shop' stars Rick lvtoranis , Ellen Greene and Steve Martin as a sadistic dentist, and features a funky, rapping houseplant named Audrey 2.
