'S 3 W On Monday evening, the 22nd of December, anxious excitement swept over the students of Homestead High Scchool , The 25th annual Winter Formal, aptly named 'The Silver Ball' in honor of the school's silver anniversary, had finally arrived. The guys rushed around collecting Tuxedos and accessories in order to look dashing for their dates, worrying about the 'Oh my God, l'm going to have to pin on her corsage--but where?' litters. And the girls dashed about making sure everything was in order: hair not looking like a rat's nest, make-up applied to stunning perfection, and of course the dress, simply smashing. Outside the school there kgs may Student Life was a cool serenity, a sign which thankfully meant that there would be no more rain. Entering the student center, ooh's and aah's of admiring peers were heard, inthe realization that all high school students don't live in jeans and sweatshirts alone. The decorations bythe Senior Class added to the holiday atmosphere. Then, Senior Class President Mark Slocum gathered the members of the court togetherforthe announcement ofthe King and Queen. Beth Herndon and Mark Levenson were crowned Queen and King. and were soon oft for a royal spin around the dance floor to the music of Phil-n-The Blanks. Junior Daryci Ghoiourpour and senior Brian Lockhart share a moment alone.
