Ceatizfe lllNl3lElNlUllllif The RPG club? GATE? What do these clubs do? But first, what do the initials stand for? The Role Playing Games club is based mainly on creativity. Anyone can join this fun-filled group of wizards and superheroes. RPG members gather during lunch of two to three hours after school to play adventure and fantasy board games. After mastering several role playing games, this enthusiastic crowd participates in gaming conventions to match wits with other gamers. So, if you have a taste for the outlandish, the RPG club is for you. GATE, Gifted and Talented Education, is a new organization at Homestead. Since its formation, GATE has given a succesful Shakespearean art festival for its members. Because GATE stresses awareness fo current issues, concerned students have the opportunity to discuss their viewpoints on subjects such as the Star Wars program. GATE also informs its members about upcoming college seminars. Everyone loves food, but not everyone knows how to cook an elegant dinner in an hour. This is why a group of soon-to-be Chefs of the West students joined the Cooking club at Homestead. With advisor .sl ,: pe s., . 55? x l 80-Clubs and Organizations f X0 it I Frances Grinels, members learn quicker and easier methods for preparing their favorite dishes. ln the future, the club plans to visit San Francisco's gourmet restaurants. Cooking is an art, and as with any art form, it gives the artist great pleasure. In many ways, math is a part of our lives. Whether you are a calculus wiz who is interested in broadening your mathematic field or someone who desperately needs a math tutor, the Math club offers both these opportunities. Three days a week the club dedicates its time to give fellow classmates a helping hand. The Math club also sponsers trips to math, science, and computer oriented places. Math club: N. Chan, J. Sell Expression lf you like to draw, paint, act, or speak, Homestead has the club for you. There are tour clubs that allow students to express themselves in a variety of ways. The Art club permits students to demonstrate their creativity, talent, and imagination. Each year, they sponser the Christmas and Easter art fairs. Currently, they are raising money fora computer to extend their talent in the field of graphics. Drama club presents many an opportunity ans challenge to those expressing themselves in theater. The Drama Club participates in the school's plays and musicals. In addition, they also entertain the student body with the Night of One Acts in the spring. Movie making is an expensive activity. National Forensic League members never hesitate to express themselves by speaking out. These members attend several debates, Student Congresses, and individual tournaments throughout the year. Their great speaking ability is marked by the many tropheies they have recieved. The fun, awards, and personal satisfaction makes the hard work, time, and energy worth it for those invoved in the Art club, Drama club, Movie club, ff and the National Forensics League.
