F Hola, Bon Jour, Ni How Ma So wordly. The National Spanish Honor Society and the French Honor Society enable students who excel in either of these languages to experience the culture of these countries. The major event of the French Honor Society is the initiation which is brought to an end with the lighting of candles by all members. The National Spanish Honor Society visited a folk art display at a Mexican museum in San Francisco. They also viewed a flamenco dance exhibition. So welcome. The Chinese American Student Association is open to all students. They remembered the teachers on Chinese New Year by giving them traditional red money envelopes. They also participated in a volleyball tournement. Each of these clubs offers a great way to get a taste of different cultures without ever leaving the country. Junior Cynthia Lin, seniors Gloria Lin and Andy Lee take advantage of Club Day to round up some new members. Ceatizfe lllNl3lElNlUllllif The RPG club? GATE? What do these clubs do? But first, what do the initials stand for? The Role Playing Games club is based mainly on creativity. Anyone can join this fun-filled group of wizards and superheroes. RPG members gather during lunch of two to three hours after school to play adventure and fantasy board games. After mastering several role playing games, this enthusiastic crowd participates in gaming conventions to match wits with other gamers. So, if you have a taste for the outlandish, the RPG club is for you. GATE, Gifted and Talented Education, is a new organization at Homestead. Since its formation, GATE has given a succesful Shakespearean art festival for its members. Because GATE stresses awareness fo current issues, concerned students have the opportunity to discuss their viewpoints on subjects such as the Star Wars program. GATE also informs its members about upcoming college seminars. Everyone loves food, but not everyone knows how to cook an elegant dinner in an hour.
