Sure, the same old familiar line - lf you want to meet people join a club. And Homestead has one club just for you. If you like to talk in front of people join the drama club or NFL or FBLA. Perhaps situ- ations in the world today really interest you, then the foreign language clubs or Youth For Peace are for you. Maybe student government is the scene of your choice, then there's ASB, class officers and student representatives. So you see by just a sampling that there are many different wi clubs - and there is one just for p ffii r you. So, take the old advice and f join a club because if it was not 'ii true that clubs were social and lim, then they Wouldn't have lasted 25 years. ,Y . if .V ,

Associated Student Body .... Getting it Together, Making it Work Held together by president Keith Abe, the 1986-87 ASB officers tackled the problems facing the student body. ctivel The theme for the year was get it together and make it work. Officers were kept busy promoting the slogan across campus. A main concern again for ASB was the NO TRASH campaign, left slightly unelfective by the 1985-86 officers. To make the students aware of the problem of constant litter and unusally large amounts of seagulls, a garbage can painting fest was held during the first warm days of winter. The cans were decorated by any group desiring to paint one. Once they were placed in the quad, it was easier to spot and more likely to help people remember where to throw their trash. piritedl A cancelled voting for the winning class during spirit week left many officers a little down. But soon somewhere it clicked, and plans were made for another spirit week in the spring and a' teacher's spirit week. Hopes lifted and ASB put their brains to work to come up with a way to get everyone to show just how much spirit they have. ig! Many students do not realize just how many people there are representing them as officers. Along with the six elected officers, there are some thirty other appointed ones in such areas as School Site Council, PTSA Representatives, Class Council, IDC Representative, Athletic Booster Representatives, and Campus Master, just to name a few. So, the student body is given a chance to speak its mind through a representative in almost every area. qi 1 I i Above-School Site Council: Back-Donella Wood, Sabina Shaikh, Miriam Rothstein, Front- Pam Jong, Eric Ly, Venecia Abe 170-Clubs and Organizations Middle Right-ASB Action Council: Wendy Wong, Thao Dang, Susie Kirk, Mollie Schettler Right-IDC Representative: Greg Taxin Not pictured: Publicity Director: Adria Woomerg Volunteer Force Director: Cari Napolesg PTSA Representative: Debbie GasiorekttOj, Michelle Fisherjt tj, ASB Correspondent: Adrian Husain, Communications Advisor: Heather McPherson: ASB Action Council: Mia Praisner, Kristin Topping, Joel Scheing Dawn Liason: Cindy Chamberlaingupper Class Councilzvicki Williams, Scott Kokka.
