Drama Club is one of ths most active clubs at Homestead. This year, they had guest speakers come and talk to the members about different ways that other countries produce plays, and they visited the American Conserva- tory Theater in San Francisco. The 5 biggest event of the year was going to Hollywood during Labor Day weekend to visit major movie studios and the popular Disneyland. Modern Dance is for girls who are interested in learning different tech- niques involving modern dances. It also gives them opportunities to devel- op the ability to create their own dances. The club performed many successful routines at the Mothers Tea held in the spring. They made up their own dances and some of the dance movements. To make Modern Dance more interesting and exciting, guest teachers attended their meet- ings and presented master lessons to the girls.

get-ifgfgfslllt Homestead students certainly appre- ciated the work of the Epitaph staff. Interest in journalism increased and enough students were enrolled in the class to form two periods, As a result more students contributed their ideas, giving articles in the paper a wide spec- trum of interests. Writers for the Epi- taph organized the paper into a news page, an editorial page, a page forfea- tures, and sports coverage. ln addition, Homestead readers enjoyed regular features such as Campus Quotes and Pollak-ticks. The staff also tried some- thing new in the form of a special communications issue written in a magazine format, Another new aspect of the newspaper was the advisor, Mrs. Sally Phelps. Along with editor leff White, Mrs. Phelps co-ordinated the staff to produce another year of high quality Epitaph issues. .C CU . :' L.Ll
