The freshmen baseball team won their first game of the season, topping Fremont by a score of 9 to 1. Coach Klov- dahl was pleased with the ex- ceptional playing of the team. The 1970 junior Varsity Baseball team got off to a good start with the aid of their Captains Dave Egusa and Bill Sutton. The team, predominately sophomores, was under the di- rection of Coach Ralph Mann. No one person can be given credit for the team's success due to their enthusiasm and spirit through a very successful season.

1 Coach Dale Anderson worked hard to develope a top team. Probably the most effective effort was the 6-7,000 yard daily workout he required to keep the team fit. Swimmers also had the benefit of the two assistant coach- es,Tim Tierney and Sheldon Ellsworth. One of the team's outstanding areas was in freestyle with Steve Fisk, Steve King, Dave Mixon, jeff Taylor, and jeff White the main competitors. Larry Mann showed exceptional ability in the hundred yard butterfly. Bill Callow, or The Flash as the team called him, was manager.
