Losing only two games to first place Buchser, Coach Anderson's team took second place in the SCVAL. The water polo team's most rewarding comeback was at the Northern California Invitational. Here, the Mus- tangs took revenge on Buchser with a hard-fought 4-2 victory. With only Miramonte left to play for the North- ern California crown, Homestead entered the champi- onship game. Getting off to a slow start, the Mustangs recovered in the second quarter, as they exploded with four goals. Homestead came across again in the fourth quarter when they hurled in three more goals to end the game with a 9-5 victory over Miramonte. Homestead took the prestigious Northern California crown. Honors came to Steve King, Paul McKenzie and jeff White as they were named on the all-tournament team. Other players who had consistent performances all sea- son were Steve Bundy, Rick Gebers, lim Parker, and Jeff Taylor. F '-1.-5.1 E' l'
