Class of I9 6 The Sophomore year - like the glass maker's flaming crucible, is truly a trial by fire which softens and tempers the inflexible sophomore spirit into a more yielding character, capable of being shaped into a finished product worthy of the Master. There's the painful struggle in the memo- rization of geometry theorems, conjugating those Latin verbs, and, added to these, the new chal- lenge of the French which somehow seems to find its way on Latin papers. All this goes to make a haphazard year which seems to be the odd one of the four. The crueible is here, the materials are in and the fire burns brightly. All these are necessary if the character which shall be the student's in the future years is to emerge. 3 What's on the agenda for this of- ficers' meeting?
