Girls Capture Countg Citle fits Eibertg Divison 'Gitle in School 's Tlistori A he determination and sacrifice that the Girls' Varsity Basketball Team showed throughout the season, payed off on the afternoon of March l, 1986 when they captured the County Championship Title from Burl- ington City. Who can forget the expres- sion of joy etched upon the faces of all when the final seconds became history. The girls had many highlights this year, making them one of the best varsity bas- ketball teams to pass through the doors of Holy Cross. With the expertise of Coach Gowan, the team not only took the County Title but also the Liberty Divison Title for their superb record of 12-2. Recognition should also go to Ni- cole Lehmann for achieving a record high of 1,000 points in the February l3th game against Cinnaminson. oach Lafferty along with captains, Todd Lehmann and Ed Bieker, led the Boys, Basketball Team this year to a 14-7 record. The highlight of the year was the unexpected win against John F. Kenne- dy. Todd Lehmann ended his fourth season in Holy Cross, basketball program by breaking the school record by scoring 1136 points at the conclusion of the year. But success can not be achieved by only one person, the whole team should be com- mended for their unity to complete another winning season.
