Improving upon last sea- son's record of four wins and eight losses will cer- tainly require much effort and determination. Supplying the major strength of the team is a solid core of returning squad members supple- mented by seventeen promising underclassmen. Weeks of constant vigorous practice condition them to meet competently even the strongest of our rivals - Cathedral. The team has demon- strated a special proficiency in batting skills. The.fifteen game schedule includes such re- current rivals as Notre Dame and Camden Cath- olic. The 1963 baseball Lancers look forward to a challenging yet promising season. Also, at the Knights of Columbus Track Meet, it placed second with a total of 38 points. Daily exercises toughen the cindermen for their various events. These include sprinting, hurdling, jumping, hurling and relay contests. This year the members of Holy Cross's squad once again pit their strength against the rigors imposed by many weeks of training in a sport which presents a challenge to almost any form of physical ability.
