The yearbook staff this year has devoted much time and effort to the production of a book of superior quality. Last year's edition merited four awards and it is hoped that the '63 Lance will be likewise well recognized. Our publication has been enlarged to accom- modate the increase in extracurricular activities and the introduction of advanced courses. Initial preparation for a few of the staff

The magazine, in being dedicated to 'Our Lady, strives to offer the best of our humble endeavors. We thus follow the example set by the tumbler who, realizing that he had no other gift, presented his talent, the art of juggling, to the Blessed Mother. Students are asked to submit original poems, essays, short stories, and art Work to their eng- lish teachers for appraisal. They, in turn, for- ward the entires to the Tumbler staff whose task it is to select the articles for publication. Planning of their work, begun during the subsequent weeks of vacation, was diligently followed throughout the school year by much detailed and efficient organization. Each year the staff has as its goal the presen- tation of a yearbook appealing to all, a book which the students will remember and appreci- ate as a true story of their high school life.
