Yflnihnrma gfigkfen 7!WarcLing gancljs performance The Holy Cross Band, consisting of thirty members and three color guards, made its first appearance on October 21 as a marching unit. The introduction of maroon and gray uniforms also highlighted this performance. From that day on, the band strengthened our school spirit with its exciting presentations on the football field. The band also provided musical entertain- ment during the Christmas and Spring programs sponsored by the Music Department. A few experienced members accompanied the chorus during the operetta and likewise supplied the music and part of the sound effects for our pep rallies. TAKING A BREAK during dress rehearsal, Mark Baiacla, Joan Bollinger, Gene McLaughlin, Bob Martinez, and John Labadie recall a few hilarous incidents. gee CAL, .14 Cafalaeffa .gfage igztclenf prince, Glee Club members have both developed their musical talents and shown their eagerness to perform at school functions. With the intro- duction of activity periods, students have been better able through additional practice, to per- fect their skills. A select group, the A Cappella, distinguishes itself by performing without in- strumental accompaniment. Together, these two groups present the an- nual Christmas program for the student body SENIOR CHORUS - First Row: Donna Donovan, Kathleen Herron, Kathleen Bradley, Donna Adams, Natalie Hamilton, Nancy Feeney: Second Row: Joel Brink, Donna Wille, Elaine and again for the P.T.A. In February, a light operetta, The Student Prince, given through the combined efforts of both of these singing groups, the band, and the Art Department, proved a great success. Besides offering entertainment to the student body and friends, members of the 'Glee Club and A Cappella likewise benefit per- sonally by combining hard work and coopera- tion to present a major production. All students in- terested in religious life may benefit from group discussions and talks presented by guest speakers. Literature on religious communities also ac- quaints students With the varied aspects of reli- gious life. An important school project is the raising of funds and collection of stamps for Catholic mis- sions. Proceeds from the Faculty-Varsity game, the sale of St. Patrick's Day carnations, and the personal Lenten self-denial folders helped to swell these funds and thus rate Holy Cross among the top diocesan contributors to the Propagation of the Faith.
