GRACE KEANE AND Kathy Dennis, who were selected to attend the monthly meeting of NOMA, review their notes before re- porting to the class. ommerciaf goume UKLPJ Iayoorfunifg or raining The commercial curriculum affords the op- portunity for students to develop for themselves the most important qualities of speed, accuracy and reliability, and to become fully acquainted with the fundamentals of the modern business world. Commercial students are taught shorthand, typing, bookkeeping. advertising, business law and secretarial office practice. The latter, in pre- paring the advanced business student for secre- tarial work, provides opportunities for him to integrate the instructions in his commercial courses as well as in business English, personality development and familiarization with the use of office equipment. Again this year, our business department was represented by two seniors at the monthly meet- ings of the junior National Office Management Association QNOMAQ, held at designated busi- ness firms of the Camden area. Our representa- tives brought back interesting, detailed reports of speakers' discussions concerning the various phases of business preparation of special interest to the business graduate. Sewing classes teach students to select good materials, use basic patterns and bring forth finished products of superior quality. Correct modeling, posture, and accurate pattern-fitting are demonstrated on our twenty-nine inch man- nequin. In the cooking department students learn to create and present attractive and well-balanced menus. Both girls and boys take advantage of the excellent facilities provided for this course. As further training, students are instructed in home nursing, home management and social etiquette which, together, fashion the intelli- gent, well-informed homemaking student.
