It also furnishes a program of future benefits that may be helpful to him in leading, as a social being, a life of intelligence. Each significantly important in itself, the in- dividual courses of this particular science result in a unified and integrated understanding of So- cial Studies. Besides attending regular classes, students may participate in interesting educational activi- ties related to Social Studies, including the an- nual United Nations and Voice of Democracy Contests. During the month of October, for ex- ample, our Social Studies students were shovm an excellent film, Nightmare in Red , which exposed the dangers of Communism in society. Also, a number of our seniors and juniors visited the United Nations and the Stock Exchange in New York. Throughout the year, many students took part in debates, one of which dealt with the con- troversial topic of integration Also a class highlight for the U. S. History course was the opportunity to use available documents and primary sources.
