Page 34 With its many modern facilities, our Guid- ance Department provides encouragement to the student whether it be through personal counsel- ing or through advice concerning career oppor- tunities. During the freshman and sophomore years, students become acquainted with the opportuni- ties made available to them by this department. As part of the program, students attend weekly guidance and courtesy classes and participate in both the Mooney and Kuder-Preference tests. The national publication, Your Future Occu- pation, made available to juniors and seniors this year for the first time, has much to offer in the way of helpful career guidance. In addition to having personal interviews which are given to all students, juniors participate in the Flanagan Aptitude .Classification Tests. They are also ad- ministered many optional tests, such as the P.S.A.T. and the National Merit Scholarship Exam. The senior student, realizing the importance of his previous years under the direction of the Guidance Department, completes the program with his participation in the Iowa Test of Edu- cational Development and the optional New jer- sey State Employment Test. b Because students are always interested in seeking information concerning prospective studies or future occupations, the guidance office remains continually active and is always open to the individual with a personal problem.

In the light of a better understanding of the Vatican Council, classes have shown a renewed interest in the cause of world unity. This has been accomplished through both individual and group projects. We have now been given the privilege of as- sisting at Mass once a week as well as on First Fridays and during the annual Easter and senior retreats. Also, during school hours, students have the added opportunity of daily visits to the school chapel and of confession during the lunch hours.
