.Aclminidfrafora reaenf mrfdy goagi fo lgulaili As principal of Holy Cross, Father Cartier has many responsrbilities. His is the duty of guiding tlfe students through both the spiritual and the scholastic achievements of the year. With his priestly faculties, Father has brought us closer to God, especially through his offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on First Fridays and through his words of advice and assurance. Having upheld the high standards which were initiated with the entrance of the first class at Holy Cross, Father has encouraged both the faculty and the student body to a genuine reali- zation of personal responsibility. with the welfare of the school foremost in his mind, our principal strives continually to improve the facilities and expand the curri- culum, thus keeping up with current educational trends. As in the past, our assistant principal has maintained her constant and untiring efforts in fulfilling the many tasks for which she is respon- sible. Among her duties are those of scheduling students' curricula, offering practical advice and encouragement, and substituting for teachers during absence. Certainly, as an educational ad- visor, Sister Margaret Marie has directed the students to discover the opportunities for true success in life. Having as her objective the furtherance of sound, extensive education, Sister, in outlining students' courses, has endeavored to uphold this ideal. Her guidance in these matters is intended to develop well-educated persons. This past year Sister has continued to concern herself chiefly with maintaining high education- al standards, characteristic of her deep interest in the welfare of our school. lit lac ing ja!! ginaleauom 0 .Spread Chridlian ima Teaching ability and personal achievement are the faculty of Holy Cross. Their methods of instruction and genuine interest in their respec- tive subjects urge a greater educational develop- ment in the student. Characteristic of our teaching staff is the spirit of self-sacrifice, exemplified in their at- tending various supplementary classes- for the greater benefit of the student as well as for their own personal enrichment. Furthermore, many faculty members act as moderators for the newly- formed activity clubs. Another of their recently undertaken responsibilities is the sponsoring of the monthly student assemblies. While displaying various athletic abilities and good sportsmanship, our fearless faculty again participated in the annual faculty-varsity basketball game, and soon after, were handed their second defeat of the year by our alumni. In our school, the general atmosphere of friendly yet respectful relationship existing be- tween the faculty and students allows a liberal opportunity for the enriching exchange of ideas. To our faculty we owe unflinching gratitude, cu- operation and loyalty.
