Our Catholic Book Meek display attracts Carol Domedion. l.ucile lirust and jane Frank, THE CHILDRE Last September the Senior Class elected Ann Marie Vacco as their spiritual leader under the title, l'refect of the Sodality. ln October Our I,ady's llonunittee ran a school-wide Cru- sade for Family Rosaries. .X chart was kept on the main bulletin board and student participa- tion was recorded according to classes. At 'Fhanltsgiying and Cliristinas the Saint Vincent de Paul Cloinuiittee collected food for baskets which the girls distributed to deserving fam- ilies. In honor of the Feast of the lrnrnaculate Conception the student body, led by their Pre- fect, marched in their annual procession through the Acadeniy halls while they recited the rosary. Many altars set up espeeiallyfor the day and adorned with flowers and lighted can- dles added to the soleinuity of the occasion, At Clhristnias gifts were donated for the blind old ladies at lYende, and clothes and toys were collected for orphan children. ln january the school witnessed the Solenin I-Qnthroneinent of Laurentia Bednarl. Finally, in May the annual outdoor procession and coronation of the Blessed Virgin was held. Nleanwhile, during the school year the Eucharistic Connnittee set up the altar in the auditoriuni for our Friday afternoon confer- ences with Father Kennedy, our chaplain. On First Friday their duties were increased because of Mass and all day lixposition of the Blessed Sacrament ending with a Holy Hour. It is evident, therefore, that although we have gay, light-hearted incidents to recall, as seen by the other pages of our book, we also possess mein- ories of our serious, spiritual nionients. Our faculty have seen the importance of the latter and have imparted to us a realization of its great importance. lt is this wealth ol graces offered to and accepted by us at ll. .-X. .-X. which will profit us niost in future years ,s 'J Treasurer Maureen Clastine.
