THE STUDENT COUNCIL The Council is composed of a group of students who make and enforce the few laws that we have at Holtville. It is made up of at least one representative from each of the maior groups and of the regular officers of the student body. At regular meetings, held weekly, this group discusses problems that arise on our campus. A different person presides at each meeting. That is, each representative presides when his major teacher is present. In addition to our regular teacher, Miss Greenwood, we have a visiting teacher each week. We choose these in alphabetical order. Some of the problems that the Council has worked on are those concerning the lunchroom line, boys smoking, the crowded conditions on the school buses, and other problems like these. Committees from the Council have gotten new trash cans and have writtena new constitution for the school. Members of the student body consider it an honor to be elected to the Council.
