. TYX ...., CLASS PR OPHEC Y Hello, what's this? Are my eyes deceiving me? l'm sure that sign said- -but, oh no, that just couldn't be--yes, it really did! That sign ac- tually said Podunk City Limits . My, my, how time has changed things here. Why I remember when this was merely a gravel pit. Ah, well, stranger things have happened! Let's travel around a bit and see if we can find anyone we know. Shall we be on our way? Look, here's a hotel. The sign over the door has Stagger Inn writ- ten on it. Let's stay here for the night. Say, Clerk, we would like to--why Grace Steger! What on earth are you doing here? The last I knew of you, you were in partnership with F. W. Woolworth. Did you join new forces or just dissolve partnership? So we spend an hour chatting over old times with Grace. Since we last saw her, she has been married three times and has now settled down in Podunk to run a very successful hotel, minus all three men! Divorces do come in handy. What's this? Why that child looks like someone I used to know ---- Say, girlie, what's your name? ------- You say jessica Pyatt? ------- Could your father and mother's name by any chance be Ted and Patty? ----- It is? Well, fancy that! So Ted finally married Patty Syers and settled down to raise his large family. That must be his lumber store we see down the street. Ah yes, Pyatt and Son's, Inc. Do remind us to stop in and see him before we leave. l-le and I used to get along fine. Why they even have theatres in Podunk. Look, tonight is a stage play. I wonder who is playing. Here's a poster. It reads: You've seen her in pictures, you've heard her on the air, now see her in person. We proudly present Elvira Wiggers and her golden voice under the management of the great Walter Dublinski Smith, owner of the Met Opera House. My, my, my, here they come out of the theatre now. Let's see what they have to say. Hello Walter and Fflvira. lt's been quite awhile since---you say you married someone from New York, Elvira? And you Walter, finally did talk Delores Schroeder into seeing things your way? ---- How charming! Well, we must be running along. See you tonight. Goodness! l'm certainly glad we decided to visit this town. We've met so many people we know. lt's hardly possible to believe that one could meet so many old class mates in a town like ----- What's that, paper boy? An extra? Let nie see one of ---------

sTYx Wg Class Prophecy lContinuedl Well Dick Rollenhagen--of all the people we expected to see on a street corner selling newspapers, you're not one. You mean to say that you own all of the theatres here and sell papers in your spare time? You always were the ambitious type. ---- Oh so you married Netta jean Henry and now you live here in Podunk? ---- My, how nice. Why not join us at the theatre tonight to see Elvira's performance? We'll have a class reunion. ---- Fine, see you then. Look---Isn't that jacquie Cooper just going into the Chronicle office? Let's stop her and see if she'l1 join us tonight. Say jacquie, it's been a long time since we last saw you. ---- Imagine you being president of the Podunk Daily Blah . l'1l wager you'd still be dipping ice cream if it weren't that at the last minute Don Ro1lenhagen's millions hadn't caught your eye. ---- Oh, yes, everyone knows all about Don and how he established Newspapers all over the United States. You married him shortly after his fame didn't you? So ,Iacquie promises faithfully to meet us at the theatre tonight and we continue on our way. Did we tell you about Delores Dagen? Well Walter let us in on the scoop so we'll pass it along. Shortly after graduating from Holton, it seems she invented a new typewriter lwith a leave-no-mark eraser attachedl and is now in Washington in big business. Lucky girl. Next thing we know she will be running for President of the United States. We met Darlene Syers, fused to be Matthews, and she tells us Warren is snipe hunting but she expects to find him home when she arrives there from shopping. They'll be glad to meet us at the theatre. She tells us the last time Warren went Snipe hunting, he was gone for four weeks. We wonder why??? There's Bob Rollenhagen coming toward us. L.et's tell him to join us tonight at the theatre too. Hello Bob, what have you been doing these past few years?---l'd never believed it if l hadn't heard it from you. Imagine you singing on Hit Parade now. How time does change things. ---- You're home to visit your family now You mean to say you married Mabel Mueller? Fine! How about meeting us tonight at the theatre? Bring Mabel and We'1l see you both there. Bye. Now who have we missed that was in our class. Surely we can find the rest here. You say Mason Trygstad? Oh we're dreadfully sorry we didn't introduce ourselves. You see Mason and l lVivian Syers that isl decided to look up the old gang so we have been touring around to see if we could find them, Where is Mason at the present time? Oh he went back to Grace's hotel to see if Carol is ready to join us yet. Mason is now running the Old Gold tobacco industry and they are doing fairly well in the financial situation.
