Cf... School is almost over for the class of forty-nine, And these twelve years were short, though it sounds like endless time. We'll remember everything and everyone too, And all the little things that we each used to do. First let's take Gladys Christian, whose grades are the best, Because she always studies more than the rest. And if you get pinched till you almost see stars, You know without looking that it was Jean Barr. And if you .want to see something that is really cute, Have a look at Peggy Gray in a bathing suit. Lawrence Campbell is the boy we all call Chine , His freckles and brown eyes go together just fine. Then there's Betty Jane Stophel, the girl with a smile, She can type fifty words in just a little while. Next we come to Dina Sells, who is liked by one and all- But she always talks and gets sent back to Jones' study hall. If it's Clyde Nelson you wish to see, i He'll be on the road to Hickory Tree. For Corena, Lewis should have told her, That some day he would become a soldier. A good history student is Eugene Roe, There isn't very much that he doesn't know. Katherine Carrier gets the colored part in every play, Because she can talk and act in just the right way. Then there's J. W. Smithson who is known by us all, We have never seen his face because he's so tall. 08144, Next is Janie South who's quiet as can be, She's one you never hear before you see. That Donald Bunn is really a wonder, He can paint posters without a blunder. Peggy Ashley gets moved from this table to that, Miss Rotenberry says she does nothing but chat. Who is the life of every party? No one else but J. W. Daugherty. We have a good actress, she's a flirt though, She knows all the boys, that's Beatrice Lowe. Ralph Stophel is popular as we all know, But beside of G. W. Morrell, Ralph is slow.- When Eva Carrier gets old and walks on a cane, She'll still be seen with Dot McClain. Then there's Keith Blevins with eyes of brown, His shiny dark hair is the prettiest in town. Marlene Hinkle's house has no window panes, She looked them all out watching for Wayne. Mr. Combs, as much one of us as all the rest, When it comes to a sponsor, we think he's the best. Our other sponsor, Mrs. Stallard, we like her too, With the school paper and annual, she had plenty to do. Mr. Spahr has been helpful in every way, Let us go here or do that, it was something every day. How we hate to leave Holston Valley we can never tell, We'll miss the school for years because we love it so well. By Donor:-nr MCCLAIN
