I-IISTGRY Everything that is Worth remembering should be written down in history. In these great years of 1946-47 A.D. we now write the history of the Senior class of '47. All interesting and worthwhile events of the preceding years and this year are now written as a fact. In the fall of the year of 1943 we became Freshmen for the first time. We had little social activities but we sure worked hard trying to pass our subjects. Mr. O'Dell was our sponsor in the Freshman year. Many new members joined our class in the Freshman year, but before the year was over we had lost a few of them. In the fall of 1944 we came back to school happy. We were a smaller class but we still were full of school spirit. We remember that we had many different teachers that year. In the fall we Went on a biology trip with Mrs, Harrison to the King's Spring and in the latter part of the year, under a different teacher, Mr. O'Dell, we climbed the mountains on a field trip. A In the fall of 1945 after we had become Juniors we elected Mrs. King as our spon- sor. We had more fun I believe than the Seniors on that outing we gave them. After the outing we found our pocketbooks were low, so we began searching for ways to make money as the junior and Senior Banquet would be coming on soon. Later, we gave a play called the Calamity Kids, and was it a calamity! During our Senior year of school we had lots of fun. Remember that banquet the Juniors gave us? That was something out of this world. We worked like Trojans the Night of Fun and what a hilarious time we had, as well as having a great time in the spring on our Senior outing. Then came Commencement and Graduation. We can best express it in rhyme: After the work of the years was all done Many sobs and sighs ended our fun. The years had passed quickly we can tell Which we topped with a sad farewell. Graduation for us was no more a dream, It wasn't as gay as it uscd to seem. We took our diplomas and with heads bowed, Left our Alma Mater of which we'll ever be proud.
