They were rated third in the Central Five and fifth in the Southwest Conference. At the beginning of the season the Dusters found it difficult to hit the basket, but steadily improved. They won the first game by nar- rowly beating Broken Bow by two points. The team then bowed to Hastings after playing a fine game. Holdrege then lost to Gothenburg and Kearney while beating Curtis. In the seventh and eight games the Dusters beat College View and Seward by considerable margins. Sparked by a terrific third quarter the team won from Lexington by thirty-six points.
