Larry Miller is about down after a long run during the Cozad and The Dusters had the most successful football season in the history of Holdrege High School. The team won all of their nine games by large margins. They finished first in the state in Class B, won the Central Five and the Southwest Conference, and were rated tenth in all classes. Rod Peterson, tackle, won a position on the all state all class team, while Iim Peterson and Dean Carlson made the all state Class B team. Larry Miller received honorable mention in Class B. This year's team is Holdrege's first squad to go undefeated or to win the Southwest Con- ference. Varsity team letters were awarded to Roger Anderson, Dean Carl- son, Max Chase, Gary Claussen, Paul Gregory, Paul Hahlbeck, lim Han- son, Larry Isaacson, Larry Miller, Burdette Moor, Dick Overholser, lim Peterson, Rod Peterson, Roger Flnderson, Steve Schroeder, Warren Speece, and lack Waller. The Reserves lost only one game by a narrow margin, While they shutout three teams. The loss to Lexington was the only black mark on their slate. Although the Dusters lost many of their first team, they will gain several experienced players for next year. Reserve team letters were awarded to Rod Hansen, Bob Iohnson, Bob Brewster, Marv Wescott, Merwyn Iones, Stan Carlson, Roger Olson, Charles Smith, Arlynn Meyer, Ronnie Strasburger, Tom Iones, Allen Gun- ning, Bob Luke, Harold Anderson, Gary Nelson, Larry Steel, Iay Fitch, Clarke Nelson, Don Griem, lim Ostgren, Pete Cramer, and manager Ted Wells.
