It was under the direction ol Miss Delores Sjogren and student director, Zelia Peck. The play expressed the beliefs oi its author, Charles Quimby Burdette, on what home lite should be. During the course oi the play, the members of the Santry family learn to love the Page 56 ass play very quiet, country life which they at first very much disliked. Thev were: Steve Schroeder, presidentg Barbara Barnes, vice presidentg Helen Barnette, secretary-treasurer, Miriam Martin, Stu- dent Council representativeg Larry Mor- ris, Ierry Morrisg Helen Walkingtong Mar- jorie Iensen: and Barbara Viren. Three junior members 'were initiated in the spring. They were: Rod Peterson, Iirn Iohnson, and Yvonne Schlachter. The members were chosen for their scholarship, leadership, character, and service. The group raised money for the pin which was given each new member. Mrs. Carr was the sponsor ot the society. Making plans for the first initiation are offi- cers, Barb Barnes, Steve Schroeder, and Helen Barnette. Page 55

QI'I,l.OI' The play, Rest Assured, was presented by the senior class on April 2, under the direction of Mrs. Ianis Iones and student director Helen Barnette. In the play, Mr. Morlock, Steve Schroeder, the grouchy father of twenty year old Mary, Barbara Viren, thinks of nothing but money, and refuses to allow Mary to marry Ioe Lan- coni, because Ioe's papa, Larry Hoback is poor. Mr. Morlock says if Mary and Ioe ever marry, it will be over his dead body. But Mr. Lanconi, Ioe's father, declares if they don't marry it will be over his dead body. Mr. Mor- CZSS lock dreams Mr. Lanconi dies and comes back to haunt him, until he gives in to the marriage. He also dreams he dies and is not even missed by his family. He realizes his mistakes, and awakes, a changed man. He okays the wed- ding, and peace finally reigns at the Morlock home.
