PIONS I95O-5I In the middle of August, Coach Jess Keifer and his assistants, Cliff Bosley and Bart Kline, started form- ing a team that soon would be rated mythical State Class B Champions by Gregg McBride of the Omaha World Herald. Playing a schedule of three Class A and six Class B teams, the Dusters' record, seven wins and two losses, was one of the two best in the history of Holdrege teams. In the Omaha World Herald Class B All State selections, Henry Poole was selected as a back. Don Leffler was on the Honor Roll. In the Lincoln Journal's rating, Poole again was chosen for the first team. Lanny Kingsley earned a berth on the second team as a guard. Dusters on the Honor Roll were Ted Peterson, Keith Lindquist and Don Leffler. Poole and Leffler made the Southwest Conference first team, while Ted Peterson was chosen on the second. Roger Fandry, Marv Nel- son, Lanny Kingsley, Hersch Graber, Keith Lindquist and Chuck Haines were honor members. Eight Dusters received Star of the Week Cards during the season. LOOKING OVER EQUIPMENT in the cage are Jess Keifer, football coach and Cliff Bosley, assistant.

ir, 4 T Peterson L. Erickson H. Graber K. Lindquist TED PETERSON, GUARD-HHH DON LEFFLER, TACKLE--HHH Ted played in the center of the line on defense. He was a keen diagnostician of opp-onent's plays and did a great job of calling defensive signals. LLOYD ERICKSON, TACKLE4H As a rough tackle, Lloyd played enough to letter. His team spirit and willingness to cooperate made him a valuable man to the team. HEL GRABER, CENTER-HHH After playing guard for two years, Hersch made the switch to center in fine fashion. He learned to center the ball right where the boys wanted it and was a terror in backing up the line on defense. LINDQUIST, HALFBACK-HHH Keith completed his third year of varsity play this season. He was a great competi- tor and an all-round backfield star. He made several almost impossible catches that helped carry Holdrege to victory. D Leffler H. Poole C. Haines Don finished his third year of play this season. He played left tackle and trouble was in store for anyone who tried to go through his side of the line. HENRY POOLE, FULLBACK-HH Hank's linebacking and blocking left little to be desired. He kicked twenty-one out of twenty-six placements for extra points and his all-round play made him a val- uable cog in the Duster football machine. CHARLES HAINES, QUARTERBACK-HH Chuch developed into an excellent passer this year. His fine passing, hard running, and signal calling made Chuck one of the best. He should be a great player next season. ORVILLE POOLE. GUARD-H Orville came along until the middle of the season so that he was playing his share of the time. He should be an excellent player on next year's team. O. Poole J. Oglevie u
