They had practiced day after day, three hours a day, just sing- ing, singing, singing. Surely they were as good as the best! It was a joyful, hopeful group of singers, determined to malce Hirsch and Chicago proud of them that set off for St. Louis The next day, these sixty boys and girls, garbed in maroon, raised their voices in perfect harmony: they sang their very best. The Hirsch Choral Club received the rating of excellent and came home to be welcomed by the praise of all Hirsch.
